To be fair, I think that we have been pretty spot on with most of them anyways, and they probably chose brand names which westerners can pronounce without breaking their tongues to begin with.

I always like saying Mitsubishi with as much other the top angry I may poop my pants pronunciation as possible.
Also like to say Mazda as a G W Bush pronouncing "Mazder"

Mazda was the weird one, had no idea it was that different. Of course I'm sure it sounds different how we pronounce ours to them.

That's funny coming from a Brit. They mispronounce just about every car brand name. Jag-you-are. Hi-un-day to name a couple.

I asked my japanese friend once about Subaru. She said the most used was like this girl said in the video, but her relatives are from some place in Japan where the first syllable was a bit stronger than the second. So... it depends on where you come from, apparently.

Local variation, as with pretty much every language. Now it would be interesting to know if the girl speaks high/common Japanese or some local dialect.

That'd be interesting.
Especially because there is very little consensus on how to teach the rest of the world how to pronounce Porsche, because it also depends on where you come from. There is more than one way to say it "correctly".
So, there are probably more ways to say these Japanese names, too.

Well, that's debatable. The "correct" way would be to pronounce it the German way, since it's a German company. That's why I posted the Japanese pronunciations of Japanese brands.

Yeah, that's the point. The "German way" is pretty relative. Me and my relatives say Porsche one way, one of my pedantic school teachers pronounced it a slightly different way and was an idiot about it.
So, there's probably more than one "Japanese" way to pronounce these names.
