Not that I don't like headlight washers but are they really that effective? I mean imagine just spraying your windshield and not using the wipers.

That is why we need headlight wipers back.

They're very high pressure on my cars. Definitely effective in winter, pain in the ass in summer.

Yeah, I guess they would help in winter.

Every single car on the road should have headlight wipers, they are freaking awesome.

I think that a lot of the sprayer-only systems use a much higher pressure – more like a power washer than a regular windscreen washer spray, so they don't need the wiper part to scrape stuff off.

That said, I still like headlamp wipers. I recently refitted them to my 850R (a previous owner had done a crude wiper delete by just removing the wiper arms and sprayers, while leaving the spindles still sticking through the front trim.

Not my video, but that's what it looks like:

My 135is basically does the same thing. The headlight washers automatically deploy when you spray the windshield and the headlights are on. The first time I sprayed the windshield at night it caught me off guard.

As for the coolest ones, I nominate the double wiper arms on the BMW E30.

As discussed elsewhere in another post: they jammed, they didn't park (aesthetics!), and I want to say that I eventually had the dealer disconnect them, but can't quite recall.

Would be pretty hard to implement with all the funky-shaped headlights nowadays.

I don't see why it would work on these (after some mild adjustments)

Windshields and older cars' headlights share a common trait: they have relatively flat surfaces. Even the car pictured above has complex curves to its headlight lenses.

Also I feel like wipers that looked like they blended with the more simple styling of cars like that E30, would just look weird on modern cars with overly-styled front fascias.

You are right, there are technical difficulties, but I would love to see them make a comeback, just like pop-up headlamps.

Headlight wipers are the best.

But yeah, my father's car has a similar one. His is a BMW, not unlike this one.
