Craziness I saw this morning

Driving down the highway, traffic starts to slow, I figure there is an accident ahead so I start looking around to see if I may need to get over a lane...

I notice a man, on the left side of the highway, wearing full leathers and a helmet. I see no motorcycle. As a motorcyclist my first thought is, someone hit this guy and took off...

As I get closer, I notice he is signalling that he needs to cross the highway. As I am already going 15 mph I say okay, throw on my hazards, come to a stop. The guy to my left follows suit. Eventually we get someone in the right lane to wake up and also stop.

The guy walks over to the right lane, stops, reaches down to the road, and picks up an unsheathed machete. Jogs back across to the median, and waves thank you to us with his machete in hand...

His bike was about a 1/4 mile down the road, parked.
