Why has no one else noticed that this air inlet is on the wrong side of the car?...

Must be that the way this engine has been tuned, the intake is not where it normally is? The main part of an engine is symmetrical anyway

No and I don't have much practical experience with cars. So have you got a better explanation why it's there?

This Supra may be running naturally aspirated (the intake manifold is located on the (JDM Spec) passenger side....But that theory falls apart due to the intercooler being mounted in the front fascia.
A headlight housing air intake is typically used to draw in fresh air directly into a turbocharger....So my only other guess is that someone swapped in another engine into this Supra...Perhaps a RB(20/25/26)DET from a Nissan Skyline.
Upon further inspection and research, I found that this particular Supra is a Top Secret build with a RB26DET. See Saf1's post HERE .
