This is how the ZF torque vectoring (and many similar systems) work.

with Techno music...thats how.

In addition to techno powered, whats actually happening is normal open differentiation spinning two half shafts that are bifurcated with a small planetary gearbox in between (so are they quarter shafts?). these planetary gearsets work like an automatic gearbox with 2 speeds, a 1:1 "1st gear" and ~.8:1 "2nd gear", the gearboxes are in "1st" gear (1:1) normally, but when turning the computer locks up the outside wheel gearbox and shifts it in varying degrees of lockup to "2nd" gear (.8:1) literally overdriving the rear wheel. This is different than a normal LSD that locks mechanically or hydraulically because it actually speeds up the outside wheel, instead of just normalizing the speeds of the two half shaft. Neat!

Here is another video with words.

Porsche explained it better...in 1990.

One of those cases when a few words would be worth a thousand pictures.

not the same thing. The ZF actually speeds up the outside wheel, this is just a locking LSD.

First thing that comes to mind- damn that must be heavy.

Well yeah, it's not quite the same technology. Electronic locking diff vs. electronic torque biasing diff, basically. But the Porsche video actually, you know, says what's going on.
