Come back to the Citroen I bought for £255 (very fitting). It’s not nearly as ratty as I’d thought! Here’s my beautiful GF modelling its party-piece :) she’s not been into cars at all before meeting me, but it’s definitely rubbing off :)

That tractor sound brings back memories. Great purchase! How did it drive?

I didn't realise you could get it so far up.

That's in poor taste, don't you think?

Nope. I didn't know you could increase the ground clearance that much.

Thanks dude :) kickass little shitbox. It's led a hard life, but it's still an eager little thing :)

Kickass little thing :) it's led a hard life, so it's a bit of a shitbox, but it's eager as anything. We bought it for £1000 because it was a fraction of the price of the cheapest Defender :) so far we've driven it until the steering box disintegrated and replaced that, then drove it until the front diff blew and replaced that :) currently waiting for the next thing to blow, but currently healthy :)

Thanks man :) from what driving we've done around the grounds it drives really well. Suspension's not in the best shape, specifically the rear (I think anyway, how much movement is there meant to be compared to the front, are they meant to be equal?). There's also a socking great rust hole near the nearside front shock mount which is why it's off the road, but other than that and a couple of other rusty bits around the cills it's actually in great condition :)

I think this is perhaps the only time I've ever approved of someone using the term 'shitbox', in any context. That Niva is, quite literally, a box that has - in all likelihood - both contained and been covered in shit - whether dog, fox or cow - at multiple points in its life.

Yeah I'm not a massive fan of the word 'shitbox' either. I need something different. Tin can is alright, or rattlebox maybe...
