That horrible, horrible US-spec nose. Not even the F40 can buy immunity towards vandalism by US authorities.

Let me rephrase I hate the Ferrari culture. Although I do hate the Testarossa and I am not a big fan of the 348. The 458 for whatever the reason has always been a lacking in my eyes as well. Maybe I am weird

I liked the Testarossa as a kid. Then I didn't like it as a young adult. Now I like it again as a 35 year old adult, lol
The 348 was pretty weak sauce. But the one thing I like about it is the price. Since nobody likes it (especially the Ferrari collectors) you can buy it for less than a 328 or F355 with the same miles and in the same condition. I've seen nice 348s for sale for $29K
I'm not in love with the front of the 458. But that's not my biggest problem with it. My biggest problem is the price. I think the 458 is a good car, it's just too damn expensive for what it is. It's about $230K before options, and options are expensive. IMO it should start under $200K considering how much the options cost and how weak the interior looks (at least to me) if you don't get any options.

But people will pay 230k they would pay 300k. A Ferrari is priceless (In the eyes of the rich people who must have a good image.)

To some people yeah. But there are a lot of people like me who are doing well but not wealthy enough to just pay whatever they want.
The big issue has been that Ferrari was trying to remain "exclusive". Which led to them restricting production of the common cars like the 458 by way too much. That let them charge an arm and a leg for it.
Things are changing with the management shakeup. And I think it could help. Ferrari already has special editions like the 599 GTO, 458 Speciale, LaFerrari, etc. that are limited edition. I don't see a need to be so restrictive with the standard models. Why not produce a few thousand more of the standard 458 cars and make the price a bit less? I bet they'd make a lot more profit overall. R&D and tooling is expensive. making a lower per unit margin but selling more units would help the bottom line. And then moderately wealthy people who actually buy the car because they like to drive it and not to look cool won't feel like they're getting screwed.
