Well, I F-ing love my F-ing CAR! I drive a 1998 Daewoo Leganza 2.0 SX. What does that mean you might ask, well it means I get a 5 speed manual, a good radio with an F-ing cassette player in 1998, ABS, steel wheels and manual AC which failed because of the pure idiocy of the mechanics that live around these parts and 133hp. What I don't get because I didn't get the CDX, well: Airbags (and that 0.5 crash rating, because I was a cheap ass I will die if I hit anything, rather than spend my life in a coma with the amazing safety of a 0.5 crash rating), TC that works only bellow 30km/h, alloys, electronic climate control, CD-player and leather. YAY.

Why do I love my car, you might ask. Well, it's old. My parents bought it and I spent my life in it. I'm now 18 and I actually get to drive it and got to drive it for almost a year now and I can say, it demands respect. I'm going to give you a short lesson of history here. 1998, Romania. People were poor, like "I have a '70s Renault made in Romania with worse reliability and 45 hp poor". You wanted a car, you either payed almost 100% more for a new one or you got one made locally. A Dacia or a Daewoo. My father choose the Daewoo Leganza. Their flagship sedan. It meant respect. Now it has about 127k km on board, all on the marvelous Romanian roads ( full of potholes and crap cars) and all while hauling a family around, my family!

NOW, the good parts about my car, finally. (I can feel my heart rushing as I'm closing in to write this)

I love the suspension. I love that suspension and I want to make love to it. I own/drove a 2006 Passat and a 2012 Golf and they are horrible compared to this beauty. You simply glide while driving a Daewoo Leganza. You are on a magic carpet made from the finest oriental silks. That's how comfortable it is. BUT WAIT! There's more!! Now, it's as comfortable as I imagine a 1960s Cadillac is, but does it have that dodgy handling? NOPE. And I am amazed. Like, I can't really explain it, amazed! I have a ground clearance of 16cm while our Passat has about 10 or 12 cm. I have waaaay softer suspension. ( The Golf is a Golf Plus so I kind of expect it to handle a little worse, so I'm using the Passat because it's also almost the same size [10 cm longer]) Now, I have really good tires on all my cars and I expected the Passat to have the edge, but I was wrong. I took the same turn at almost the same speed with both cars and the results were surprising. 120km/h with my Leganza and it kept it calmed and composed, with just a slight bodyroll. I felt like I could do 130 or 140 easely, the wheels didn't squeel at all! I tried the same in the Passat. 115 km/h and I heard the wheels cry a little, not much, but you can't really go past 130 and survive. It left me speechless. The comfort in that Leganza and the handling is BEAUTIFUL. I simply love it. Daewoo got that thing right and it deserves to know that.

What other cheap cars are way better than modern ones? What other manufacturer doesn't have the appreciation it deserves?

Heh....Daewoo named a car after sheathing-grade plywood.

I'll shut up now.
