So MountainCommand (Mike) and I embarked on a journey that took us through Sparta and beyond Wit's End, finally spitting us out in Orange County, NY. We felt kind of out of place, just a tiny tiny bit.

Kinja'd!!!

Orange County Fair Stancefest 2014.

The drive out there was through some pretty scenic farmland, there was a 56 Chevy two door a few cars ahead of us at one point, but he wasn't going to the show. Nice blue color though.

We arrived in a big line, where I finally put the top down, and started straight up blasting some 70's and 80's music, dancing in the car, singing along, and making sure I had better music playing than what seemed to be emanating from many of the Japanese cars that very unfortunately lacked J-Pop music. There are pictures of this, that I'm only mildly embarrassed about, but it was funny enough to do in public, so I should have known better.

But we finally made the entire .5 mile journey from one side of the fence around this convoluted line, where I put the Benz into "off road mode" and backed up a slight incline. Take that stancebros, you can't do that!

Then we started walking around and looking at all them broke cars, with owners too poor to get proper alignments or good shocks for their cars.

Kinja'd!!!

There were cars that were functionally useless. Other cars so low, they scraped when they weren't even moving. I am genuinely impressed that many of these cars had rear windows still.

Kinja'd!!!

There were some really really cool cars around though, like this VTEC swapped Mini, complete with super wide fender flares, and a rattle can carbon fiber finish.

Kinja'd!!!

There was a vent, complete with a door.

Kinja'd!!!

There was this "show car" BMW. Look at them fenders. The tire sizes? Exactly the same as the a-vent-a-door thing.

Kinja'd!!!

A wild Opponaut appeared!

Kinja'd!!!

Zip ties. Many many zip ties.

Kinja'd!!!

This DeVille. I'm going to be very honest and fully admit that I really really like it. Very unique, I've never seen a modern DeVille look so sinister. Complete with landau top.

Kinja'd!!!

This guy showed up. I'm sure as hell glad he did, becuase if you took every one of the stancenation cars and combined them, they'd still lose to this badass Camaro. The owner simply said he build it because "you've got to go fast." When asked how fast it was, he said "I don't race it on the track ever." He arrived with an orange Camaro behind him, with a very similar setup to this, but tires not nearly as big. Imagine the biggest yoga ball you've ever seen. Now make it a little bigger, and stick it on a wheel.

Kinja'd!!!

Yes, it had a license plate on the back.

Kinja'd!!!

We learned how stancebros get their wheels off for tire changes, but admittedly, that must be hard to do a full rotation on. Get the donut out. I'd love to see a full video of that.

Kinja'd!!!

The even broke a wagon. It was a tragic sight.

Kinja'd!!!

This Jeep was saying what many people were thinking. "Low riders are for guys who can't get it up."

Kinja'd!!!

This amazing C10 pickup that was a gorgeous shade of light blue, and done very very well.

Kinja'd!!!

Some Subaru bros drove onto the dirt bike track, like the Subaru bros they are. Did they think no one would notice?

Kinja'd!!!

But best of all, there was an F40. I've got nothing more to say about that, because F40. Have a phone sized wallpaper.

Then on the way home, it was like Animals Gone Wild! There was this massive snapping turtle that decided the side of the road was it's place in the world, so traffic had to avoid it. I swear, it was the biggest one I've ever seen. I could easily see it wrecking an oil pan where it was sitting. Some guy decided to pull over and keep an eye on it, I guess to make sure no one hit it.

But it got better! We later passed a Cow that was in (presumably) a farmers front yard. The cow, however, was not within the fence, it was just standing in the front yard, eating the greener grass.

And then we hit peak crazy when a young buck came way, way too close to hitting either the SL, or the guy in the Nissan Rogue in front of me. In the words of Jeremy Clarkson, "some poo's come out!"

There was a fantastic rat rod over by The Chatterbox as well on the way home. I finally got to my dinner, lots of water, and nearly fell asleep on my girlfriend's living room floor, because two full days of car shows can really be tiring, but it was well worth the adventures. 11/10 would do it again.

I disagree with you on the stance thing, and this:

''This guy showed up. I'm sure as hell glad he did, becuase if you took every one of the stancenation cars and combined them, they'd still lose to this badass Camaro.''

I think you severely underestimate the quality of Stancenation cars.

Father and sons both have massive engines with giant turbos on them. Last time I spoke with the father (the Camaro in your photo) they were guessing about more than 1500HP.

A few photos of the son's setup:

Damn. That's definitely the engine I was looking at! I remember those blue insulated lines.

Just insane.

You got some great shots though. I liked the wide angle with the mini shot. Mine was alright... And im glad you got one of the subaru 'rallying'. The only shot i got of it was on my film camera, so its gonna be a while before i see it haha.

I think I just need to pick up a second 7D body so I don't have to swap lenses so much. That or a better bag I can walk around with.

If I had known they were over there, I would have grabbed my 120-400, and done some wallpaper sized images.
