What the fuck happened? I turn my back (turn my computer off) for two hours and shit hits the fan? Can someone enlighten me, or is ignorance bliss in this case?

Someone posted a faked screenshot of a Kotaku article with an inflammatory headline. Others chimed in that it was in fact fake but it caused a lot of knee jerk reaction in the process. The author decided to delete the whole article to before it got truly out of hand, but gave no explanation about that fact. This led me to speculate that it had been done by a moderator and I made a post about it. The truth of the situation then came out and now we're all happy.

I came across a shopped picture of an older (year old) kotaku article that was shopped to say something along the lines of: why arent women featured in the opening sence of private ryan.
It was a shop. but due to the content, some took it seriously, even thought I had updated to say it was shopped, and it triggered a lot of tensions that have kinda been on broil for a while (ESP with this whole gamergate stuff that has been going around)

I took it down, someone thought one of the mods did it and assumed the mods were shushing us up because we spokes baddly about a blog. He posted about that, and I tried (just now) to clear it up with him....I have no idea what the hell I just started on oppo, I just really hope I dont get too flamed for it...
