Update on the "Sketchy Sale"

I decided to call off the sale on the airsoft gun for a couple of reasons. One being that I'm unfamiliar with that part of Detroit, the second being that all the discussions with the "buyer" made me suspicious as hell, three being that most of you only scared the shit out of me, and four, because I have my mom's birthday dinner tonight, I've just been told.

I just like to think that there are some good people out there; sure, some people are thugs out there and I try to be as careful as possible with who I'm dealing or working with, but I don't like to go into things with the mindset that everyone is bad.

I totally understand that, and I don't want you to think that everyone is out to get you, but when your gut (and the conversations you have with the guy) are telling you it's sketchy, it probably is.

It's just annoying because every time I go out to do something, my mother is intent on telling me to not do this or that pertaining to people I don't know; and that pisses me off. It's as if she treats every stranger as a crook, and I've met new people and have even made good friends from it. But I understand where you're coming from.

It was my idea on how to make some extra cash when you said you need monies. You could borrow one of the 4 door cars from your family and drive for Uber here and there. As far as I know there is no minimum time commitment so you can just do it whenever you want to.

It's a new kind of taxi service. The first level (UberX) is all people using their own cars.

A smartphone app connects drivers to passengers. Both parties can be rated using the app. So if the driver is a jerk too many times then Uber drops him or her. If the passenger is a jerk too many times then they get blocked from Uber. It's a good system because it forces people to be civil.

My understanding is that all you need to do Uber X is have a 4 door car and a clean background check. And you can drive whenever you want to and not drive whenever you don't want to.
