Now, selling my stuff on Kijiji, like Craigslist, should be a breeze. Here's the worst I've seen. I've had 3 things listed, and I managed to get one sold so far.
First thing, I was selling 3 BMW E60 rims, one was refurbished. the first and only response I get is;
"Hello, I'll take one."
and then the email conversation goes somewhat like this:
"Which one?"
"One of the factory ones."
"Only one?"
"Yeah, I'll be at St. Laurent Mall tonight"
"That's a bit far for me right now, Can we go somewhere a bit closer to me?"
"Yeah, I'll go anywhere".
"How about Bayshore?"
*no response. *
Selling the Escape, I got a whole range of offers: from lowballing scrappers, to hopeful first drivers. These gave up messaging me for some reason.
"hello, 200 for complete thankyou."
"I just got an offer for 270, can you beat that?" (this was from another scrapping company, I asked for a quote before listing the truck)
"uuh no 200 is the best I can do."
Another was
"Before you part it, can I see it first?"
"Sure, I'm available all week."
*No response*
Funnily enough, the first person that messaged me the day I listed it, ended buying the truck on the spot (with steelies), and basically promised to repair it and make it road legal again.
Another thing, someone asked me to put the wheels aside, once I let them know that I did so, I didn't get a response back, that is why they're listed now.
and just yesterday, I got a message on my phone about those wheels,
"is your carpart still for sale?, don't bother texting me back, cuz I am at work. send me an email at [thisaddress] instead".
And I sent an email to said address:
"Hello, just responding to your message, alright, to be on the right page, which car part is it that you're interested in?"
"the wheels and tires."
"oh, okay, are you interested in the whole set?"
*no response*
This just aggravates me. Why do I have to put up with stuff like this on a weekly basis?

people are the worst. I had a sub and amp for sale for the longest time. Finally, a guy was seriously interested and we sent texts back and forth about how CL people suck, where we should meet, and the guy made me promise I'd show up. The next day before I was about to leave for the half-hour drive I texted him asking for an address because he only had given me the street name. I called twice and left messages. He never replied back. I got so pissed I pulled the ad and now the sub just sits in my basement, and I'm perfectly ok with that.

90% of my kijiji replies go like this:
"Hi. I'm interested in your item. Is it still available?"
"Yes, it is. If you'd like further information or would like to view it, you can contact me via email, phone or text 123-456-7890"
*no response*
So, I guess people aren't interested in buying anything, they're just curious if items listed for sale are indeed for sale.

I was recently trying to buy an air conditioner for my apartment on craigslist and I could not believe how terrible and hard it was to actually give someone money. You would think that giving them exactly what they want would be the easy part. I'm not new to craigslist or anything, I have bought and sold 6-7 cars, tons of parts, musical gear, paintball stuff, etc. But never have I had to try so god damn hard to be the buyer.
Every ad just says something like "good cool 175" and lists no contact info at all, so I have to email them and no one ever, EVER checks their email. I can understand maybe a few of these guys already sold theirs (and didn't take down the ad and ignore the emails they get because of it), but many of these I contacted with half an hour to an hour of them putting the things up and I never heard anything.
One guy I could tell had like 8 ads up for used air conditioners and put a different street name for each one. Not an address, not a phone number or anything useful, just a street name. I emailed that guy about like 4-5 different units he had for sale, and no answer. Hell, he is still putting ads up:

I eventually just said fuck it and drove to the nearest Sears and bought a fucking new one. It was worth the extra $100 just to not hassle with these idiots.

That is just a horrible ad. yet they wonder why it hasn't sold.

Doesn't help that he's not replying to the people who want to buy it.

I hate that, although I am guilty of doing it once, Not exactly my fault though, I had a super nosey mom who decides to get into my own business, and decides to make me go to one of her activities once I said I needed to something of my own.
