I has a sad, I've been bored non-stop for the past 3 weeks. I worked a quick summer job at the end of august, but that was actually the last chance i got to see any of my friends before they head off to college. Now the majority of who I play video games with or hang out with are at college, with only one of them going in Janaury (Like I am). Our schedules are extremely incompatible, I haven't seen them in weeks.
I've been looking for a full time job to keep me from melting of boredom and help pay off college, so I'm waiting for that.
But until then, I'm so unsure what to do. 100s of steam games and money in the bank doesn't substitute having my friends around :(
I also wish I knew more people who where interested in cars, I only know 2 people my age who have any interest in cars, which is disappointing, it's probably why I have been more frequent here. The kids my age who are into cars are very tight-knit and are kinda dicks about it, they tend to think their are superior with their JDM-tite whips and stanced Volkswagens, and its just not my crowd, even seeking car advice to them to try to find common ground has been hell.
/rant felt like venting that out

Well, you could add on Steam I guess. (though I haven't been on in a while, too busy getting my Porsche road worthy) I'll probably be on tomorrow at some point.
Steam Name: TheCommodore
Check out my games, maybe we have some in common.

I know that feeling, High school was the best part of my life. I took a year and a half of college, now I'm cooped up, bored as hell. I almost got my own set of wheels, but it was a loss.

There's an Oppositelock Steam Group.
I'd try to see if you can find some car shows. I've been surprised how many there are around now that I suddenly don't have that much time again (back to teaching high school).

there are tons of car meets and shows around, but i honestly feel embarrassed going in a hybrid camry. We tried once, people where staring at us like we where aliens.

It's funny, I have one of the more universally disliked cars on the site (Chrysler Crossfire) but people have been really nice to me. At some of the places where there are more exotic things I just park away from all the glorious rides and walk up and talk. People are usually nice then too.

I'd probably have to go to toronto to find some nice stuff, which I might do. Here it's full of people my age who are like pro stanced cars, the local car people are very subjective when it comes to cars.

I think if you've got the time to go the extra distance it is probably worth it. I was really bored car wise in college but I just should have driven to Madison or Chicago.

one good thing is that I have been looking for a replacement, leaning towards Lexus GS300, but also looking at the Mazda 6 and some other cars, so I can go to local stuff and not be embarrassed. I definitely will drive to down town next chance I get if something nice comes up.

Depending on the era those can be very cool. I love the Mazdaspeed 6 too. You could maybe see if there's any autocross around and see if you can up you driving skills for later at that. If a Pontiac Aztek can come to my local autocross I'm sure a Camry Hybrid would be welcome at yours. If nobody taught you manual yet, it's the sort of thing that'd be good to learn in some spare time too.

Oh yea, I definitely want to learn manual. I'd be amazing to go to do autocross, but from what I've heard its quite a drive away for even the closest one.

I miss my uni days most. It's the kind of experience that even the richest people could never buy, or the successful socialite couldn't replicate. Nothing makes you realise this more than life after uni...atleast you have that to look forward to!

I wonder why? Car enthusiasts are car enthusiasts.. just go and enjoy yourself!
Whereabouts are you located as well? Near Toronto?
