I tried beurre noir today. Definitely one I'm going to try with my friends. It was delicious and theatrical but I hope they're ok with me setting off the fire alarm.

Ha ha ha. I did the same thing. I ended up with a linoleum burn on the floor though from reflexively dropping it. Looks epic at the least!
(...and anybody have any advice on removing linoleum burns?)
And the flareup was post acid application I assume?

No worries. Just a trip to Lowes and some knife use if worse comes to worst. Sometimes Oppo people seem to have clever fixes but I doubt there's much. Sanding it would still leave a hole.
