1987 Volvo 360 hatchback. Classic red block Volvo engine, RWD, manual 5 speed transaxle rear transmission, almost perfect weight distribution, great condition interior and exterior. Questionable aftermarket wheels that can be replaced. 166k km (103k miles) or just barely broken in. What's your opinion Oppo? EL_ULY?

Yes. That was a 340 though. The 340 and the 360 are the same cars, but the 340 came with 1.4 gas, 1.7 gas and a diesel engine (all Renault) while the 360 came with a more powerful Volvo engine.

As far as I can recall Volvo never brought them here (to US America).

It's in Europe now. Having this shipped to a US east coast port with a set of original wheels, including shipping but excluding US based bureaucracy? Probably about $5500 or so. Add another $500 or so for registration I'd bet (I'm unsure about that latter part)

A reliable old relic from the days when Volvo specialized in durability? Sure, why not.

These things are fairly uncommon for bad reasons. Most of the volvo community seemed to despise them. Just get a 240 if you have to have a crumby old volvo.

I haven't seen a 300 series in a very long time and there may well be a reason for that.
Fun fact: they were made in the old DAF factory.

I see them sometimes because they were made by the old DAF factory, when I see them it's always a 340 though. Moreover, the 300 series is mostly a DAF design that was almost production ready when Volvo bought the car part of DAF.
A reason you don't see many is because these cars aren't really loved by enthusiasts. although the drift scene does seem to like them. Over here they were mostly driven by the elderly. They were economically worthless ages ago, few people are willing to properly maintain an economically worthless vehicle for years. I'd drive a 360 though, with that stout and relatively powerful Volvo block.
