"Steve in Manhattan" (blogenfreude01)

September 1994 - I was in law school. Dating a Marine (only woman I've ever dated who could kill me with one blow of her hand), didn't have much money, and needed something to do. Oh look - a free bike tour of the Gettysburg battlefield.
Riding back in my '88 Camry and there's a sign - "Apple Festival" - so we pull off, get some cider, walk around. Maybe 75 or 80 yards away there were 15 or so old cars assembled. I said, "Oh look, that's a '64 Buick Electra 225." She said: "No. It. Is. Not." I said it sure is. She said "I will buy you dinner if you're right."
I was right.
The ride home that evening was kinda quiet.

That's all it took to make the ride quiet? She must not have been too much fun.

She did not like to lose. We rattled on for a couple more months, then it was over. We did have a lot of fun however, but I had to concentrate on school, and that was a factor.

And there was the time I reached under the front seat of her Supra to retrieve something and found a loaded .38. Good times.

And I asked a woman out on a date because she had an SVX. She was impressed because I knew what it was. And that I could parallel park properly.

Later in the relationship she told me it turned her on when I threw my arm over the back of her seat and put it into a tight space. I'll leave that alone now ....
