Yesterday we dealt with cars that !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that everyone else praised as beautiful. Today it's the opposite - what car do you think is good looking that everyone else does not like? I have two: the Panamera and the Pacer Wagon. Despite all the carping from journalists, I think the rear end on the Porsche is just fine.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
With the right wheels, the Pacer Wagon works. I'd even have the fake wood. If only the build-quality had been better ....

I have no problem with everyone barfing over the Panamera. It'll make it easier to find a nice GTS in the future.

The Panamera. People give it a bad rap, but I still think it would make an amazing road trip car.

These two hot little numbers:
Yaris 3-door, especially in this blue.
Suzuki SX4 Hatch. Like a 4/5 scale Mercedes ML, but better-looking.

I too like the Pacer, sedan or wagon…my only issue is with the "bump" they put in the grille on the later versions (such as you have pictured). I suppose that was supposed to give it a more "traditional" look, but it is incongruous looking to me, and doesn't harmonize with anything else on the car.

The rear end of that wagon is very nice.

Always liked the Yaris - the looks tell you exactly what it is: A to B transportation.

My ex had a creme pacer limited wagon with the special-order only 4
-speed stick. There were possibly fewer than 20 ordered that way... It was a hansom little car with a huge, plushy, semi-bucket split bench in the front...
the panamera always fails to look as good in photos as it does in person.

same ex who had the pacer also had an sx4. That was an entirely decent lite AWD hatch. Too bad about Suzuki USA :P

So true - I have seen 10 or so Panameras here in Manhattan, and they look good in the metal. But I would choose my wheels carefully.

Yeah. They said they did that to fit the V8, but you can fit a V8 under the original sloped hood as I've done it. I think the problem was that people weren't used to not seeing a hood in front of them when they drove. The first one disappeared because it was short and angled, and every other car was a long hooded land barge in those days. So, giving it that bump gave you a view with some car in front of you.

The Citroen Ami is often called one of the ugliest cars ever and I have zero problem with it. It's neat looking for what it is.

I've come to like the Huayra, and most seem not to. And the Panamera is really color dependent. I hate them in light colors, but I work on a dark blue Panamera Turbo that I think is just stunning, even from the usually bad rear 3/4 angle.

I loved those - was 10 years old when they came out and they looked like THE FUTURE! They were supposed to have rotary engines, but when that fell through they came out as the Mustang II fighter, which had more traditional styling (and led to the weird Monzas with the notchback and traditional grille, for those for whom the fastback was "too far out there" I suppose)

Paganis puzzle me - overly fussy exteriors, and look and the bright shiny objects in the cabin! The ones I've seen on Top Gear didn't even have airbags (as far as I could tell) - I want every airbag you can stuff into a car, thank you very much. I've never seen one in the metal, but I still don't think it would do it for me. But then again - if I had to buy a car (and I don't, live in NYC) I threaten GT-R, used Gallardo. That's where my taste goes (or Boxster, possibly Panamera). I like cars with subdued interiors. In reality I'd probably cheap out and go Focus ST, used Volvo R, 370Z. And that's a good point about the color - I usually like white cars, but the Panamera looks better in dark colors for sure.
