Anyone heard these? My co-worker just told me one of his friends plan to get one. They are basically enclosed motorcycles.

If it happens, I'll be interested in one for commuting.

His friend should make sure his life insurance is paid up. That thing makes a Smart car seem safe ....

I have been watching this company for 3 years now. Sadly production keeps getting pushed back. It is a tandem 2 seater. They are pretty neat. I may get one after they set up dealers (I want to see the final product in person and pick out the options I specifically want.)

They are supposed to be $6800 if they ever come to fruition. I'd buy one for that if they ever do come out.

Are motorcycles safe? I'm sure you have nothing against bikes? yet this can't be any worst than a motorcycle. I tell you what I rather be in this than on a bike in case of a collision.
It's a risk no matter what at least with this you get a slight chance.

Yes, unfortunately, they've already missed about 6 self-imposed production deadlines and may or may not actually have the funding in place to build it. Would be fantastic if it ever sees the light of day though.

It's got what amounts to a Geo Metro drive train powering the front wheels. 'Amounts to' because the engine only exists in CAD files and the transmission isn't even that far along. I wish them luck because it's design space that hasn't been much exploited but the company uses a lot of the same jargon as previous frauds so I'm not holding my breath.

in an actual collison, yea.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against bikes. but when you get on a bike you know the risk and you accept the risk. This is no different sure it's not safer than a suburban but it doesn't mean I wouldn't drive one.
I just get riled up when every time some thing new and innovative comes out that could make a big difference on this planet. someone always comes out and says they'll be crushed and it shouldn't be on the road, ect.
Some of these people are the same type of people that have no issues riding a bike in shorts and a wife beater with no helmet.
I don't get their logic?
