And I need your help desperately! HOW THE HELL DO I UNSCREW THIS??? This little fucker is the fuel pressure regulator, or warm up regulator(WUR) as some may call it. I need to adjust the CIS warm control pressure that's underneath the WUR, but I can't get this thing out! I think I need to unscrew that hex-shaped thing, but it won't budge. Help me Oppo, you're one of my last hopes. :(

PB Blaster or WD40 it, then wait for a little bit. Use a hex bit on a breaker bar.

This right here is a detent to make a permanent assembly with that steel cover - that definitely doesn't come apart. Unless the permanent gasket were leaking, in which case you'd be screwed. Yep, whole assembly comes off. As to the allen screw, what have you tried on it so far? It's got a hardness stamping on it, so what you would be best off with is a hex drive on a standard ratchet with an extension. *Worst case*, most impact drivers for screws adapt to those hex drives as well.

The allen screw is my problem, I sprayed anti-seize and I still can't get it to budge after an hour. What's a hex drive on standard ratchet look like?? :(

I used anti-seize. What's a breaker bar?

Long bar used to increase leverage, better than a ratchet when trying to break something loose. They come in a variety of sizes, you can probably get one for like $10 at your local auto parts store.

Anti-sieze may not do the trick (usually use that before putting bolts back in). That tan-colored stuff in the oval hole might be a tamper-proof like epoxy or something. You might need to icepick that out and then apply the PB Blaster.

I have a socket set.

Okay, but do you have the allen socket for that size? A breaker bar is good thing to have even if you do have a socket set, you can get breaker bars that are much longer than your ratchet which allow you to apply much more torque to a stuck bolt like that one.

Put the 6mm Allen socket in there with a short extension, and give it a few light taps with a ball peen hammer, or rock it back & forth (tight, loose, tight, loose). It's likely corroded into its threads. That should be a Grade 8 bolt (it'll say 8.8), which will actually strip quite easily if the socket is not perfectly aligned, so be careful.

Unfortunately, that old version of the WUR can't be taken apart & cleaned easily like the later versions with the plug on top. They often corrode internally, and there's a small screen that clogs, which then throws off the control pressure. Yes, I'm a K-jet dork.

And the control pressure is what I need to get to, so basically you're saying I'm wasting my time then. FML. :(

Maybe. Technically, Bosch states that none of them are adjustable. Yours is one of the really early ones, and I really don't have a lot of experience with those, so maybe there is some tweaking possible, but usually the problems are due to internal blockage or a faulty bimetallic element, both of which require disassembly to remedy. The later ones are easy, I'd say I can salvage those at least 75% of the time, but they're just bolted together. Here's a copy of the Bosch manual on them:

Another thing to possibly do: make sure the allen key hole is nice and clean before attempting to do anything. I've heard used (old) dental picks can be used to clean holes out.

Soak that hex head bolt in PB blaster and let it sit for a bit. Then soak again. And sit for a while. Then after doing that a few times, unscrew bolt
