Belize, from who? They were granted self rule back in 1964. They became an independent Commonwealth Realm back in 1981. They retain the Queen as head of state but like The Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, etc... they are their own people and can decide for themselves. Not Guatemala, Argentina, Spain, etc... or indeed the United Kingdom for that matter.

Its been a territorial dispute between Guatemala and UK since the 1860s. Treaties have been broken on both parties acknowledging the boundaries and economic benefits. Both countries accuse each other of colonialism, so the dispute has been in a deadlock regarding the boundaries.

Lol. Just like all the other ones really then.
Now it's up to Guatemala and Belize to sort out but don't bank on it in our lifetime.
