they're wether sealed, made of magnesium alloy, have one of the best sensors in it's class, the lenses aren't ball bleedingly expensive (I'm looking at you Fujifilm), and it just looks awesome!

I went through a few Pentax SLRs before I switched to M43 to get smaller size. They're nice, and underrated. Very well laid out controls and a great selection of lenses, including older, used ones.
But come on, at least spell it right.

No worries.
I would look at the K-5 IIs. It's a stupid bargain at 70o bucks. It was easily twice that when it came out a couple years ago. Same basic body as the K-3, and even though it's "only" 16 mp it has no anti-aliasing filter so it produces higher resolution than most other 16 mp cameras.
Take the money saved over the K-3 and pick up a nice lens.

Yep, expensive Fuji glass is the reason I'm looking at buying more legacy lenses :)
As for Pentax, have you thought about the K30/50 they are cheaper than a K3 and are also wheather sealed.

I'm actually looking at the K5 Mk.II s because it still retains the metal construction and you can buy a body for around $600.

I love Pentax. Been using their cameras for 15 years now. Other than the general toughness aspect of them another awesome feature is the lenses are backward compatible all the way back to the mid 1970's. Any Pentax K-mount 35mm film camera lens will fit any of their modern SLR's. If it's got the "A" on the aperture ring it'll be fully functional, and if it doesn't have the "A" it'll be cumbersome but can still be made to work. Because of this Pentax has the largest and cheapest lens selection on the market.
My newest camera is a K-5 but for the past year and a half I've been focusing mostly on film photography using a vintage Pentax K1000. Awesome thing about the lenses? Last time we were out shooting I popped the lens off my 35 year old K1000 and snapped it onto my girlfriend's K-20, she went right to work with it without missing a beat.

I loved my K10D. Took it to hell and back. But I sold it about a year ago for a Fuji X100S.
It was just too heavy. I used the f/2.8 16-50 lens (wide angle to medium telephoto? All I ever needed.) and the weather sealing was great in the rain, snow, monsoons, and waterfalls... but after a day of shooting, my neck hurt. And when I wasn't going to be in terrible weather, I wasn't as inclined to just grab it and go, because it was a big, heavy, camera that screamed "HEY I'M A BIG HEAVY CAMERA!" I didn't mind the looks, but it was sometimes a pain to cart around. The X100S fits into a cupholder, the Pentax had to go on the passenger seat... buckled in. Or if there was a passenger, they had to hold it.
All that said— I still sometimes miss it. Pentax has an amazing control layout, and everything feels right. I'm super happy with my X100S, but it should tell you something about how freakin' good the K10D was that I still think fondly of it despite it's technical shortcomings compared to a years-newer camera. It's the sort of camera you could kill a man with and take a picture of the body— that's how durable it is. The Pentax 50mm f/1.4 lens is a steal. It's bokeh is lovely... the Fuji comes close, but that last half-stop is sometimes worth it.
Also, if you want fun— K-Mart used to sell a line of K-Mount lenses under some generic brand-name. Hilariously fun (read:terrible) color reproduction and cheaper than dirt. I bought a 200mm lens for $5! It's like Instagram but with a dSLR!

Yep. Been hooked on Pentax since doing a few years QA stint at the company who made a couple of the boards in the k10, got myself a k20 once they came out. I really think their hand grip shape is unbeatable (sounds small but its not), definitely their anti shake system is pretty excellent as well. Everyone is doing quick continuous writing and capturing now, but 5~ years ago Pentax was the leader. They also use a crap ton of weather seals that make their cameras very durable. I always thought it was cool you could use some of the lenses on the old and new cameras
