Or should I wait and see? Meanwhile, I've suddenly developed a want for a Panasonic P-01E...

what device are you using? It has some pretty cool features but I think it's slowed down my iPhone 5 a tiny bit.

Wait. App updates are coming quickly right now, as devs optimize for iOS 8. With past updates, I have waited until most of the apps I use every day have updated before updating the OS. There's a chance that something you use every day will be broken if it hasn't been updated yet. Woe to the early adopters (generally).

Always wait. ALWAYS WAIT.

Also depends on what phone you have, too. I wouldn't even dare putting it on a 4S. Possibly not even the 5 or 5C. Wait until you read some reviews/complains before making the jump.

I also understand you need several GB of space to even attempt the update, so if you have a smaller device with a lot of data, you have some cleaning up to do.

It's running fine on my iPod 5.

I've been Googling for the past few hours about iOS 8 problems, but none seem to have popped up so far. But it's only been a day, I can wait a week.

Currently, I've got a 5 which I got from my dad's colleague. 16GB. THE AGONY.

If you do decide to update download it on your computer then plug your phone in to install. That way you don't have to have a bunch of free space availible.

Honestly as long as your job doesn't rely heavily on your phone or an app, go for it. Sure updates are going to be rolling out soon for apps, and even bug patches for the OS. But if you start de-cluttering your phone right now (since you need around 3GB from what I've heard/read), by the time it's done downloading you'll be good. If you just keep using it you're going to accumulate more data for you to worry about later.

I'm actually downloading it right now for my 5s. Had to go delete a bunch of stuff and get rid of apps I don't use. It's actually good. Feels like spring deep cleaning. And come out with a new-feeling phone. It's a win win

I BADLY want an android based flipphone, but I don't think it'll be happening any time soon on Verizon. Probably never :(

I updated my phone (5s), my iPad (not sure of what gen), and my wife's phone (5s) last night. The only gripe I have is I had clear a bunch of stuff off just for the install. but it was mostly just music that I was not really listening to any longer and podcasts I can re-download if I want to listen to them. I also got rid of some apps, but again, they were ones I really were not using.

My phone seems a bit slower in all apps, and just overall. And the message feature is acting weird. It is showing I have a new unread message when I reply to someone, and also after I read some other text messages. But then the notification goes away.

But I am sure there will be a "patch" out within the next week or so.

And just a small gripe...I do not like what they did to Safari. On the iPad, they moved the bookmarks, and they pop up and stay up until you hit the bookmark icon again. Really intrusive and annoying.

It usually takes a few days for bugs/complaints to show up. Unless you're in a hurry to get ALL THE NEW FEATURES, wait at least a week.

I've always thought those smart flipphones where really cool. Something about putting the microphone down where my mouth is just seems more... correct somehow. But I don't know of any that are available in America, and importing an international GSM model would be really expensive. So, budget-friendly Google Nexus phone for now.
