Have a few shots of this bitchin' AMC Concord wagon that was at my local car show.

Dang, I think I've just fallen in love. This thing is beautiful!
Never thought someone would put a 5.0 under the hood of one of these, but dang! It's amazing!

I was about to say that man is an all american hero. And then I saw the engine.

At least he didn't swap in a 350. A 302 is at least slightly different.

Yeah. Hey, at least its better than a stock straight six. But, yes, that thing is just begging for an LS swap.

I know it looks fantastic in the pictures, but the photos don't do it justice. This thing was MINT. And yeah, I was surprised by the 5.0 also. He had a little 5.0 badge on the rear end, and I said to myself "No freaking way." Lo and behold, there it was. I was drooling over it for like 15 minutes. The only thing that could have made it better was an LS, but the 5.0 was plenty sufficient.

302 is the 350 of the 80's

Oh that's perfect, I didn't even have to do an image search.

That straight six is the only thing any Chrysler product ever had going for it and probably the most important contribution AMC ever made to automotive culture.

I honestly would have expected a HEMI. But still, the Concord is kinda dream car material for me.
Who knows, maybe one of these days, I'll save enough money and head down to Pikeville, NC and get one for a restoration or resto-mod.
Maybe throw in something from the GM Performance or Mopar catalog under the hood.
And maybe an Eagle to stick a 3.0 EcoDiesel in.
If they can fit a 5.0 in a Concord, an EcoDiesel should fit in nicely in it's Eagle brethren.

I understand this. But, come on, the swapped powertrain just makes the car so much more special. Would it have been awesome with the straight six? Hell yes. But there are more laying around with those straight sixes than a 5.0. I don't know, I thought it was pretty sweet. Not to be blasphemous or anything.

Clean AMC wagons are rare. AMC 4.0's are a lot more rare than 302s.

My god, if that thing had a HEMI in it, I probably wouldn't have left its side.
And that might just be the most perfect AMC combo that has ever been thought of. I'm sure you could get an EcoDiesel into a Eagle. Better yet, the Concord and the Eagle could each have the same color code! It would a match made in heaven.

I understand that AMC 4.0's are much more rare than 5.0's, but I meant 5.0's that were shoehorned into a Concord. When was the last time you saw that? I'm just saying its cool and interesting thing to do, I guess. Who knows, he could have picked it up for $800 as basket case. Its better the way it is than possibly rotting in someone's backyard. Even if it was nice example, he probably figured that nobody would mind if he chopped it up.
