Switched to premium and just did a 0-60 run with Torque. Didn't smash the pedal all the way at the beginning because I didn't want to spin the wheels and draw attention to myself, but I managed to get to 60 in 9.3 seconds, vs 10.2 seconds with regular gas.

Hell yes. Going to seafoam (2/3 can in the gas, 1/3 tank in the manifold) this weekend and hopefully then I'll have the engine cleaned out and running like it used to before it sat for a couple years.

Have a celebratory concept rendering of a 2015 LeSabre that I just found and excuse me I need a change of pants.

Have you been having pre-ignition issues with 87?

Yup. Probably a combination of carbon buildup and a 9.5:1 compression ratio. Also running premium means my tune can switch over to the "MOAR POWER" tables.

It's basically a Fisker Karma with a V8 and a Buick logo. Would probably have an LS engine in it.

This render is glorious.

It looks like the unfortunate child between a Model S, a Verano and the "performance" aisle of an Autozone

I would suggest Kreen over seafoam, that stuff is intense.

No, This is the next Buick that deserves to be revived.

Riviera, Roadmaster, then LeSabre.

pls Buick.

Make the Riviera a lower-market CTS, the Roadmaster a lower-market ATS, and the LeSabre... hell, I dunno. A lower-market version of whatever HUGE-FUKKIN-BOAT they're supposed to be revealing soon?

Ah, right. Forgot about that. So many things that need to be bought. Somehow my friend doesn't have any at his shop.

I want a Big Riv. I want something that gets shitty gas mileage and looks evil.

Kreen is some serious professional grade shit, strong enough that they don't sell it in stores probably over fears of people hurting themselves by inhaling the shit. When you order it you must list a "company" that it is being shipped to, probably to relive themselves of more liability. But holy hell does it work. It's from Kano labs which has been around for forever and makes really high quality products.
Here is a massive thread about Kreen at the bobistheoilguy forums
http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthre…
(Side note: we think we are nerdy about cars but we don't hold a candle to the bobistheoilguy commenters, it's an entire forum about motor oil )
You can buy it here: http://www.kanolabs.com/engCle.html

A forum about motor oil... wow. That's like having a gun sub-blog that's about nothing but magazine release switches.

I'll look into it, but I'll probably end up going with Seafoam because it's locally available and laziness is a central theme of the Murdersofa and I have to honor tradition.

What could possibly be more lazy than online shopping? You don't even need to put on pants!

This is the land of matte-black Buicks. Logic does not apply in this realm.

Also it seems to be easier to get my dad onboard with stuff if you can buy it at orielly's/autozone/Walmart/etc.

I think Kano normally throws in a can of Kroil with an order. Kroil is like WD40, except way better, probably the best penetrating oil on the market. The "deal" might help you convince him. Seriously, Kreen is what you want if you really want to clean out your engine.

'Kroil. I have used for quite a few years. Love it. Everybody who uses it loves it. Never tried Kreen. May have to now. F-150 has developed a slight lifter tick. I have bought it (Kroil) in stores in the past. That is where I found out about it. This was a supply house for the oil and gas industry, though.
