I have been thoroughly enjoying driving on Toyo R888's for the past few months. If I had the money I would consistently buy R compound tires due to the amount of smiles per gallon had!
I started school almost a month ago, and being a commuter, I end up driving around 300 miles a week. The R888's where wearing quickly, and I needed to save the 3/32nds of tread for an upcoming 10 hour TSD Rally, and a track day at Streets of Willow.
After about a week of infuriating Craigslist sellers, I jumped on these Mazda3 wheels with nearly new Firestone tires. I probably overpaid by a bit, but it was important that I made the buy sooner rather than later. They are 205/55-16 and just barely fit. I think the wheels look nice, but there is far too much sidewall for my liking. Oh well! At least now I will get better MPG and a more comfortable ride. Not that I really care about those things...
