Its what everyone has been saying. There will be no change in how disputes are handled until the most important thing has been effected, and no, its not women or children or the safety of all of society, but the wallet. Today alone Radisson, owned by a prominent Minnesota family, has suspended its sponsorship of the Vikings, Nike has pulled all Adrian Peterson apparel from Twin City shelves and Anheuser-Busch has issued a very strong statement about how the NFL conducts its business. Seriously they pissed off both Beer and Nike, it wont be long now before NFL does something now...

Football is not the only sport with misbehaving athletes.

The double standard is alive and well.

Its all down to how well publicized the issue becomes. Ray Rice (with video) and Adrian Peterson (pictures of scared son) are prominent players, so it made huge headlines for multiple reasons. This by no means says those who do it other sports dont deserve harsher punishments as well, clearly they do. I just cherry picked football because of what has been recently happening.

The NFL is so f'ing stupid.

They are forgetting that brand image impacts pocketbooks in the long run

AP should be suspended immediately. What he did was even worse than what Ray Rice did because it was done to a child.

Pulling Products and suspending sponsorship sure sounds like action to me. And this is just one day after Peterson was reinstated. It could very easily become a PR bonus to publicly come out and criticize the NFL's action. And I have a feeling more people are going to go out and claim abuse by professional athletes seeing how high support for those right now is.

And hockey, etc. Things that people who follow both women's issues and sports are well aware of.

But as we all know by now, if there's no video evidence, it's just a women's issue and who cares about those?

I will play devils advocate and support AP. What he did would not have been considered abuse before "Every Child Deserves a Trophy" began.

I don't think every child deserves a trophy. And it would be another story if he simply spanked the child.

But shoving leaves into his mouth? Whipping him across the scrotum? That's child abuse

And of course, let's not forget the worst of the lot, a UFC star beating the shit out of his ex-girlfriend.

But that doesn't get publicity because she is an ex-porn-star.

I forgot not everyone has heard all the details. I listen to sports talk radio every morning when eating and getting ready for work.

Also details have emerged of him being investigated for abuse last year and released. Seems like a pattern...
