It was a rumour already but Renault confirmed to Dutch magazine !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that there will be a spiced-up Twingo. It won't be a real RS from Renault Sport but it will be co-developed by Brabus as the Twingo is a co-development with Smart/Daimler-Benz.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Power will be 110bhp from the same 0.9 3-cylinder. Can't wait to try it with it's engine in the back, it's weight and that RWD!

This is what the smart car should have been.

That's one way of putting it and you're probably right. But actually I'm glad they didn't as I'd rather have this as a Renault.

Agreed. The smart brand should have just been a US Renault, period.

I wonder if we'll get a mid-engined RWD nissan hatch now.

Surprising, as the last one was released in RS trim. Heard one some weeks ago, sporting the, as I could see later, factory exhaust system. 133 hp, but a lot of cheap thrills, I guess.

Couldn't they also build a Gordini version?

The last (Clio) Gordinis were nothing more than blue cars with white striping. No power-up, no weigth-loss, no improved suspension/brakes or anything, I don't think they'll make the same mistake again as it gave lots of disappointing press-rumble. Marketing it as a Gordini-package would be awesome. Or Alpine (R5 Alpine anyone?). Or RS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY RENAULT DOESN'T USE IT'S HERITAGE SOMEWHAT BETTER!

Renault brings the Va-va-voom.

Brabus brings the BRAP-BRAP-DOOM
