Building a rally car is not for light weight walleteers.

I have had an idea, where I build a rally car. I had the combination in my head just right. Power, fun, excitement, entertainment. I changed my mind. I can't afford to replace it after every race. that's what would happen to me, i'm convinced! Nope....nope....perhaps if I had my retirement taken care of, but nope... Ejoy a solid hour of rally crashes with natural sound only.

The only people who get to do more than one season who crash every race are shoe magnates.

The key is to build a rally car and not race it.

Or that other guy from Wham! who did it until he ran out of money.

that is the Great Realization—when we're done building our street cars, we're done. But when you're done building your race car, it's good for like five hours

Mr Shoe Magnate only crashes about once a season now (unless you're talking rallycross, there he still crashes a lot)

Secretly I want an Evo IX with a rally sequential gearbox, anti-lag, and launch control, but all the other comforts and features of the stock street car.

This is why I co-drive.

That said, if you build a rally car you absolutely adore, odds are you won't crash it. Like the guy with the Porsche that I co-drove for in Oregon. It was clear he had more to give, and it was clear the car had more to give. But he was a Porschetard and that car was his baby, so he kept to a "fast but safe" pace. You can always tell the drivers who love their cars, because they pretty much all drive like that.

I just like making the joke. I'm actually a big fan of Ken and love the exposure he's brought to the sport.
