2:26 mins are enough to get me completely sold on the '66 Lotus Cortina. So I challenge you. Would you turn down a free one and/or sell it as soon as you get it. Imagine this is an ideal world where real world stuff like road tax/insurance/maintenance/parking spaces don't matter. Who wouldn't want one?

I almost bought a basketcase '64 Lotus Cortina for $600 as my first car. It didn't have the twincam with it anymore, but came with most of a second car for parts. With hindsight, it was really, really stupid to pass on it.

It hurts my heart because it reminds me of my old 510 :( The 6.0 GTO is powerful and comfortable but the Datsun was just like this, dual carbed 1.8, 5speed, full coilovers and a roll cage. I've made a huge mistake.

ugh fine.
OK I watched it, just not my style man.
The exhaust note for this does NOTHING for me.
This is my exhaust and it makes me much, much happier than the little Lotus:

I don't like it at all and I love small cars. That exhaust was probably the worst part. It sounded like a scooter that I wish would just die.
I'll have one of these instead.

love the shifter. Wonder if it has q cool springiness to it. Wonder what it feels like going into a bend. Oddly reminds me of a bmw 2002 I drove a few times.

It's just a different taste. My preference is throaty deep angry sounding American V8s. Not small displacement open exhausts from Europe.
To each their own though!
(oh and my electrical system is working just fine stock from 1968)
