Do JDM wing mirrors make a car cooler?

I noticed that a lot of the Japanese Domestic Market cars posted to Oppositelock and Jalopnik have mirrors on the front fenders. They look nice. That makes me wonder if they improve the look of any car. If I put them on my 1987 Nissan Sentra 4WD station wagon, which looks like this one but without the dents:

would that make the car look dorky or better?

Depends on the car. I personally prefer door mirrors, but whatevs.

Wing Mirrors are the Trench Coat of automotive dressing.

They make a pretty car look poignant and unique, with a sort of nostalgia for the 60s.

They make an ugly car look dorky and weird, and make you worry it's watched too much of The Matrix.

On most cars, yes, I'd say they do. Of course, a lot of Japanese enthusiasts feel the same way about door mounted mirrors, so it could be a case of wanting whatever you don't get.

My car watched The Matrix and Purple Rain in rotation any time Dad left it alone in the garage. It's had more than its share of Trench Coat longing.

Hate the mirrors, LOVE the wagon. Please tell me it's a manual?

They only look good on 70’s cars and older.
