Anyone ever read this? Is it any good? How technical does it really get?

I've read some of their stuff on their website, is that indicative of their pay-wall articles?

If you ever listen to Radio le Mans, Sam Collins who writes for RCE is a frequent commentator/expert, and he is very good at explaining tough concepts clearly and so that umm, dim people like me, can understand them :) .

Ive only read articles on their website. Sometimes they do do a free digital copy, so maybe keep an eye out for that and see how you get on :)

Thanks, I didn't realize that. Interesting. I'm debating on trying out the magazine for a bit. But it's most worth it buying for a year lol.

It's terrific, and it's VERY technical. I had a subscription for a while, they touch on absolutely everything. If you're interested in the real nuts and bolts stuff, it's tip top.

It is big with the automotive motor sport students' at my former University. A lot of those guys go on to work in F1, wtcc, ect. So... If you are into engineering, like really into it its good.

This can't possibly be drier than the Automobile Design journal I used to get. Holy balls, every article was about a micro-level system on the cars and chemistry. I'm a tech geek, but it was crazy technical. "This new material for LED headlight prisms generates % more dispersion while reducing ohms in pseudo-insulated polymer encased wire loom." What the shit.. Show me pictures! Oh, its just technical specifications and theoretical mathematics. Where is my Popular Mechanics?

LOL. This was a perfect answer- I prefer reading the dry technical shit. Thanks!

Thanks, that's exactly the answer I was hoping for.

Perfect, that's what I want. I am an engineer, just not automotive. Yet.

its found at your better barnes and nobles bookstores. Check it out there. Yes it is very good and in depth covering mostly the new product developments like a new style of magnetic damper or a new system in place but also covers high tech for low tech use on occasion, like cfd software for exploring wings for your budget race car...and also how higher tech teams use it in F1. Also articles on a whole car or in depth team engineering. Its good and over the head at the same time.

Would it not be cheaper to pay the $50 for a digital subscription for a year?

If you want to understand the math behind how cars work, this is a good source.

If you want to oogle over horsepower and "the next big thing", this is not for you.

No problem. I had it on Zinio, they discount subscriptions occasionally, or you can buy individual back issues.

for myself, itscheaper to buy a cup of coffee amd read it then put it back. Im not able to use its contents...im no engineer but its cool what they write. Its just not enough on my lower level to subscribe to like Motorsport.

Ah, as an engineer who is planning on design a simple little car, I suppose it is a different story for me. I'll have to evaluate my best route...

You got time to get there, and reading it more will increase your knowledge. I always enjoy the google pit- where you find something you want to know more about (presumably by seeing the word or phrase in the magazine), then google it and learn more about it. At which time you see another word you are interested in knowing what it means, and the process continues forever.

Yes, it's excellent, very technical. Some stuff is over my head but I read it to learn so that's part of the deal. I would prefer physical copies but I have a Zinio subscription as it's a lot cheaper.
