Today was the second annual La Macchina Molto Bella car show in Akron. This show appears to be the reincarnation of the Glenmoor Gathering Concours, except better because free and all... They did accept donations for the Summit County Kidney Foundation, and they had a great showing. Read more about it !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

According to some of the attendees, a fair number of participants never showed, and I was a little disappointed at the number of attendees that were leaving already after 2 hours, but there were enough cars there to keep my attention, as well as many others.

Photo dump below:

Placed here to draw attention and to appear as the lead pic...lest my next few pictures mislead folks as to what kind of car show this is.

Kinja'd!!!

I was absolutely stunned at the condition of this little Chevy LUV. Pretty sure those wheels aren't stock, but I could be wrong.

Kinja'd!!!

1947 Dodge Power Wagon

Kinja'd!!!

No idea what sort of engine this is, but (again) I'm reasonably certain this isn't the original mill.

Kinja'd!!!

F350 King Ranch seats. Back seat, too.

Kinja'd!!!

1957 Chrysler 300C. I was intrigued by the air cleaners.

Kinja'd!!!

That 300G to the left looks grumpy.

Kinja'd!!!

This 1967 Charger 383 was cool, but what really impressed me was the little drive-in speaker that was playing audio from TV commercials. There was even a container of popcorn sitting on the console inside.

Kinja'd!!!

While standing behind this 1970 Dart Swinger, I was struck by the photo opportunity the nearby Superbird wings provided. Good idea...but I think my execution left a little to be desired. Potato photo is potato quality.

Kinja'd!!!

This 1937 Packard 12 rolled in as we were crossing the entry path. The owner was tooting the horns to the entertainment of onlookers. They'd make most diesel trains jealous.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Two Lincoln Zephyr V12 convertibles. One had the hood up, the other didn't.

Kinja'd!!!

Dem honeycombs...

Kinja'd!!!

I'd never seen a California Special Mustang before.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The taillights threw me for a loop.

On to the Italians...

Kinja'd!!!

I liked the PininFarina logo on this 275 GTS, and thought it would make a nice picture. Obviously, I didn't factor in the likelihood that Leg-of-Roundbadge would be reflected in the paint. This is the better-quality picture...the other one has all of Roundbadge reflected in it.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

One of 499, the 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia 16M Spider.

Kinja'd!!!

I liked this plate.

Kinja'd!!!

The Webers of...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Lancia Zagato.

On to the Brits...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Mini & Moke. The second picture is the Moke's hood. Is that Brian Redman's autograph?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Supercharged MGs... A B, a TD, and a TF.

I really wish I'd snapped a picture of the V8 MGB-GT.

Kinja'd!!!

Loved the bumper sticker on this TF.

Kinja'd!!!

And then there was one of these, too...

Kinja'd!!!

This little boy was absolutely amazed that the engine wasn't in the front of this 356.

Kinja'd!!!

And finally...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

An all-original (except for that air cleaner) 1957 Chevy Corvette Fuelie. I guess that's as much patina as a Corvette could have.

It was an absolutely beautiful day for a car show. I'm thrilled to see an event to at least somewhat take the place of the Glenmoor Gathering, and it was wonderful to have that event raise some money for a good cause.

It was clear someone had put a lot of work into that beast. I absolutely loved it.

Many of those area cars I’ve seen before at Stan Hywet or the Monday night cruise-ins in Cuyahoga Falls. That Zagato I’ve seen several times. I’m surprise those polycast honeycomb wheels have survived, thats amazing. If you ever see a cream MG-TC in the area it might be the one I helped fix. I installed a new piston to the connecting rod on my garage workbench and bench vise. My neighbor back 20 yrs ago had a coworker who owned the car. After the Stan Hywet show he stopped by and left me the car for an afternoon as a reward for my help.

I live in Cuyahoga Falls. I agree that a lot of those have been at the Falls Cruise-Ins. Isn’t that AA/GS blown dragster you took a picture of at the ‘15 show a ‘41 Willys? If so, I’ve seen that at the Cruise-In a number of times, and had it pass us as we were on our way to El Meson for dinner afterward. It sounded like it was tearing the universe apart.

EDIT: your picture definitely wasn’t a ‘41 Willys, on second look. I know I spent a long time looking that car over, but sadly I don’t remember what it was.

I’m pretty sure you’re right. I didn’t get to hear it run but I’m sure its a ground shaker. I work in Tallmadge, live in Stow.

Me too. If you see a lava gray (almost black) Audi A3 quattro Sportback with the 3.2 its likely me. I’ve never seen but a few other A3 with the 3.2 in 8 yrs.

Well, if you see a silver 2nd-gen Tacoma regular cab 2wd with poorly-done bodywork by the driver’s-side headlight, that’s me.

The work was done before I bought the truck...
