I always find my self wondering where they filmed some of the ads for new cars today. Most of the locations seem like it would be pretty sweet to drive on, of course that may be all camera tricks. Today this Acura commercial caught my eye. It looks like the US considering the road markings, but I can't fathom any road through the mountains that is just one lane with a tunnel. So is this a real place? Thoughts?

My guess is Oregon, but I really don't have a clue. I looked up Oceanside, Oregon, and the coast looks similar, but I can't find a tunnel that matches up. I'm guessing it's a combo of reality and CGI, but maybe it's all real! They filmed a Toyota commercial in our driveway a few years ago and the only special effect consisted of a grip positioning an extra tree branch in the shot... I'm gonna keep hunting for this tunnel!

My wife's family lives near here and has a lot of history in the area. Totally worth the visit. It's closed from time to time because somebody is filming... We live about 4 hrs away but try to get out here at least once a year.

That is called the Hawk's Nest in upstate NY. Unfortunately that section of road is only a few miles long like that. It is breathtaking for that short section.

The Oppo meet up 2? years ago went over that section of road several times.

My wife's cousin used to be a waitress at the Hawk's Nest - biker bar that used to be on the northern end of the windy part. It burned down (questionably) a few years ago.

That is definitely in CA, at Hawk Hill, (Conzelman Road) just north of the golden gate bridge and in the golden gate rec area. We were on this road this past summer, our sons wanted to longboard on it, which we were able to allow since its one way and we could drive behind them. Was a bit unnerving to allow since we heard there have been bikers who have gone over the edge. It is an amazing drive, we took the loop a couple times. The sharpest and steepest spot is just after the lookout spot and military battery 129 parking area. https://www.google.com/maps/@37.82754…

The tunnels must be in another location and just edited into this, as there are no tunnels on this loop. There is no doubt about the location of the main road in the commercial tho, since we were just there and we froze the tv picture and examined several landmarks which line up with our experience and google pics of that spot.

It's a beautiful drive, and the area is breathtaking! Go!
