Welcome to project vs. project (PvsP). I plan to make this a semi regular series where I pit two somewhat similar project cars with similar asking prices against each other. Leave a comment which one you'd take and why.

Now to the cars. First we have a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for 850 € ($1099). Let's have a quick run through what we are looking at here:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

- runs and drives

- not much rust

- 1300cc (possibly bigger)

Next up we have a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! painted to look like a Lotus Cortina for 900 € ($1164).

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

- 1,2l Kent ohv

- good body

- comes with all the parts missing in the pictures

Cortina. Begging for a 2.3EB swap.

So you are actual doing a redux of the infamous Project Car Hell series by The Patron Saint of Japlonik himself, the Great and Powerful Murilee Martin?!

Both seem expensive for compacts in less than optimal condition. You could find a better car in similar shape for about the same price.

I like the Cortina better though.

Umm, yes I guess I am. But with more European flavor since I mainly browse Finnish, Estonian and German classifieds.

In Finland cars tend to be more expensive. You can't really find a 60's car in much better condition on that site for the same price.

If that's the case, then I'd pick the Cortina for the cool factor.

The Beetle is a more logical choice since it has more parts availability and is in a little better shape.
