OMG NOW I CAN DRIVE EVERYHTING AND I WANT TO BUY THIS
AND THIS
AND THIS
AND THIS
AND I CAN DOUBLE CLUTCH AND POWER SHIFT AND HEEL TOE AND ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGG FAST AND THE FURIOUS
But in all seriousness, I was hanging with a buddy and he offered to teach me on this
So it was just a bunch of trying not to stall in a church parking lot at 1 AM. Funny thing is that the truck has Magnaflow exhaust, and as I was just beginning to venture out on the sreets a cop pulled up and started spotlighting around the parking lot as I passed by, which leads me to think I may have been called in by the neighbors for suspected hoonery for the first time. I may have been conducting serious buisness, but coincidentally couldn't have picked a better time to try my luck on the roads.

Bro, I tried but 6th gear just made me go backwards so I think his truck must have negative gearing or something

Honestly as much as I enjoy driving stick I think the real advantage to learning stick is the freedom it grants you. Never again will you pass up a chance to own a pristine unmolested 89 CRX SI because it's a manual. When you go to ask a salesman about a FiST you won't have to worry that you may be sweating because you suspect that he secretly knows you can't drive stick. In the zombie apocalypse that the walking dead assures us is coming you will survive off the plentiful options of manual cars that weaker men have passed on because you have mastered them.

Learned to drive stick when I bought an ancient '72 Volvo 142S 4-speed and had to get it home. Third light was a hill start, and I stalled it - once. Then I got it underway and didn't look back. Sure, it needed a clutch after 30K or so but that was because the first 24 hours I was learning, and if you slip the clutch a lot, you will wear it out. My advice? Learn on someone else's clutch.

Yep. I was afraid I'd inflict mayhem upon his truck. But he didn't care much considering his truck is one of those 200,000+ mile beaters that was once stolen and now has a salvage title anyway.

Good start. For an encore you might like to try something like these, which have respectively 14 and 9 gears:
