So I'm just browsing CL and I suddenly remember Ford's S/C Mustang from 10 years ago. For gits and shiggles I look it up. How, how are they TWENTY grand vehicles!? Just buy a used Coyote Mustang for that money!

Side note, "Start making realistic offers and become the owner of a whopping explorer sport trac XLT and you will be the envy of your friends" is the most hilarious sentence I've read this week

I'm not saying they're bad, I'm saying they're overrated.

I mean, they are fun. Worked on one, worked with a guy who owned one, had an IRS from one installed awhile, good stangs. But god damn they should not be 20 grand vehicles

Because all of the cheap ones were bought up by people wanting 450HP beasts for the cost of a new V6. The supply hasn't increased because people won't sell them. I have a feeling that they MIGHT start coming down when 5.0s hit the $15000 range.

Remember, it wasn't until about a year or so ago that you could even get a 5.0 for $23k.

I like checking out what http://www.hi-endauto.com/ has. It's also all way too expensive. With some looking you can still find them in the 15-20 range.

I feel like 20K should only be for one that's not modded and doesn't have a ton of miles on them. So basically none of them. I hate when I see a Cobra with a ridiculous amount of mods on it. I'm all for modding but on something special like a Cobra or Mach doesn't seem right.

But they're expensive because people want them bad. They're awesome cars with tons of potential for lots of power. You can abuse it all you want and the car will be fine. And some people probably just like how they feel more... Raw I guess, compared to the new 5.0. They feel like whole different cars.

Are they special cars now? Awesome, yes. Potential, yes. Durable, yes. Just like anything with an alloy LS in it. Is the Terminator more special because there are LESS of these engines with Eatons in Fords? I don't know.

The T-56s in them are cable driven though, right? I can dig that

I normally kinda like the Yamaha car collabs (Toyota's 2zz holds a special place in my blood beater) but that was one of the most fragile damn engines I've wrenched in a long time, not to mention A GOT DANGED PAIN TO WORK ON.

I've always felt they were special. Not just for the name, but for the limited number produced. How many V6 and GT's do you see per day? How many Cobras or Machs? I mean, there are a ton of awesome cars that are durable with lots of potential. There's just more to it then that.

No idea on the T-56's.
