From an interview with ESM driver Ed Brown.
BROWN: "The Dunlop tires were fantastic. We had the proper tire for our car. Without even pushing the car that hard, we were two seconds quicker a lap. Ryan ran a couple of laps on both the Continental and Dunlop Tires and easily posted the quicker laps on the Dunlops."
"The WEC car is slower because it is restricted more (by the series) compared to IMSA. But the car will be four seconds faster around COTA because of the tires."
Holy crap a WEC p2 with less Hp is 4 seconds fast than a tusc P2 because of the crappy spec tires. Way to go nascar. I wish this nightmare would just end already.

Seriously. The Contis are shit for max performance, and everyone knows it. The only reason anyone runs Contis on track is because they have a free tire deal or are forced by regulation. The P2s have been hamstrung from the start. Not to mention the fact that any US P2 teams going to Le Mans are behind the curve purely because they're tire limited here.
Also, random: My favorite racing T-shirt is the "Joest Do It" shirt I picked up at Laguna years ago ;)

IMSA is still the sanctioning body for TUSC, the tire deal is their call.
