More Terrible Car TV

Velocity strikes again with some more awful car viewing. Normal I enjoy their line up with the do-it-yourself car fix and upgrade shows. Sure every segment is interrupted by an ad hoping you'll buy and dump whatever product in your gas tank *cough*Z Max*cough* but that's what DVRs are for.

Then there's this gem: Dallas Car Sharks

a half dozen used car dealers you follow to auto auctions where they banter at each other, bid ridiculous amounts of money (conveniently only the show's stars are seen bidding against each other) on cars not anywhere near their actual value. Case: a 2010 F150 Lariat. Granted the show aired in 2013 so it was likely recorded in 2012 or 11. But two of the dealers get into a pissing match and the truck sells for $31k. Yeah, 2 years ago yet I can buy one now for <$10k.

Afterwards they take the cars back to their respective shops and attempt to "fix" the problems discovered *after* the auction all while complaining about the cost of the repairs. Then they have to turn around and sell these magically refurbished (not even restored) vehicles for a profit.

The only redeeming parts of the show is the obscure selection of cars I've seen on it ranging from a viper SRT 10, Corvair, FJ cruiser, and an Alpina B7.

Overall Grade : D+ "It appears to the Storage Wars and fake auction crowd while trying to lure in the car audience but misses the mark poorly"

Definitely a lot of terrible shows on Velocity.

For every Wheeler Dealers and Car Fix, there seems to be 3 or 4 awful shows more concerned about drama than cars.

What kills me is how she falls in love with every old piece of crap just because it's old. She's literally blinded by its age so she buys crap after crap then complains because it costs more than what the car is worth to restore it.

And then there was the Southern Comfort (or similar 90's based conversion company) Suburban. That was awful. If you are going to have to repaint it, repaint it a solid color. There is one vehicle of hers that I thought was okay though, and it was that silver GMC.

This is the worst car show ever. I don't know why they continue to replay the crap out of it. Even Texas Car Wars at least had Sarah to look at.
