Seems legit

Edit: Just remembered the Army is switching to UN symbols and names for all hazardous materials. I guess F-24 is is UN for JP-8.

At least they won't have to worry about the fuel gelling in the winter...

In case you didn't know, jet fuel is similar to diesel fuel. The main difference is the additives used, IIRC.

Kerosene

Possible. Not really recommended pure, but should be fine in a mix. Probably works as well as kerosene for winterizing.

F-24? Odd.

Yep.

Simply put F-24 is Jet A plus the military additives S-1745 (FSII), S-1747 (CI/LI), and SDA. It has a slightly different freezing point of -40[degrees]C compared to -47[degrees]C for JP-8.

Q: What's the difference between JP-8 and F-24?

A: The main difference is cost. JP-8 and F-24 are completely interchangeable fuels for all CONUS operations. TARDEC (ground), AMRDEC (aviation) and AMCOM have all approved the conversion to F-24. For more information on aviation use of F-24, check out AMCOM GEN-MIM-13-001, at: https:Wupw.jtdi.mil/

Is that like how I put 110 in the Ram 50? I.e. amusing but doesn't serve a lot of purpose.

NATO designation maybe? The Wikipedia article shows some NATO F designations. Possibly just a joker working at the fuel depot.

Ya, it's basically all the same. I don't know for sure about aircraft, but, I know all military wheeled vehicles will run off all military diesel variants.

Figured it out. It's Jet A with Mil additives. Interchangeable with JP-8.

Kinda the same, more like putting cheap gas over name brand. Does the same thing the jet fuel just has some additional additives.

Interesting that JP-8 is Jet-A with an additives package but for some reason that's also F-24. Interdasting indeed.

I think so, I am going to do some research later today. But, one of my buddies just went through HAZMAT school and he was telling me about it the changes.

The Army makes it pretty easy to keep up with because of all of the recertification s that are required. Generally whenever you get certified by the Army to do something you have to do refresher training yearly, it makes it pretty easy to keep up on stuff.
