I've already mentioned some that I'd love to see come back, but here's another: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Appearing in early 2006 on Xbox 360, the game was pretty much created in similar fashion to many other vehicular combat games, like Twisted Metal, Interstate '76/'82, Vigilante 8, etc.
Specifically speaking, it's kinda like a cross between Twisted Metal, Spy Hunter, and Burnout.
The game featured destructible environments, like gas stations that blow up in more ways than just exploding gas pumps (seen again in Split/Second), buildings that can be blasted and then driven through, and the 'Unwreck' feature (similar to the 'Rewind' function that would be seen in the Forza Motorsport series not too long after).
The title would reappear in 2006 (US console release)/2007 in the form of Full Auto 2: Battlelines for the PS3 and PSP.
The original was decently received (70 on Metacritic), but the Sony games wouldn't live up to that (67 for PS3, 53 for PSP).
There hasn't been a Full Auto game since, and Pseudo Interactive shut down in 2008.
Chances are, the rights to the IP are still owned by SEGA.
But, with just about every SEGA in-house racing game developer having been shut down, and the only other one they work with, Sumo Digital, working on the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2, the chances of another Full Auto game seem rather slim, unless either Sumo Digital and/or Microsoft were to buy up the IP, but that seems unlikely.
So, what series or title would you like to see revisited, that hasn't seen a new release since the turn of the decade?

Cruis'n USA - Throw some modern super cars into a Cannon Ball Run race across America, put together some hammed up story line, and make it all look pretty. People would buy it for the nostalgia factor.
Wait a sec... am I describing Need for Speed?

I agree 110%.
This game was absolutely fantastic. The action never seemed to be repetitive, and the power plays were always rewarding no matter how many times you've used them.
The courses were very detailed, though the races appeared to be too fast paced to be able to appreciate the details. Things like the various billboards, stores, and various background vehicles.
I've always hoped someone would find a way to port the tracks as map mods for games like Grand Theft Auto IV, or even a simulator like BeamNG Drive, so people could get to take a good look around at things they would normally miss.

Baja: Edge of Control. This time with proper physics, not just THQ's recycled bike/ATV physics crap.
Colin McRae Rally. DiRT is fun, but it's not the same. Colin McRae Rally was a proper rally game. We need that.
Stuntman. Lord did I love the game, especially the sandbox, but again the physics left much to be desired.

Need For Speed: The Run had a great premise, in my opinion.
It's just that the gameplay usually didn't match up, except for the on-foot segments (which I thought were decently done) and the more dramatic portions, like the part where you're being chased by a helicopter and a bunch of Porsche Cayennes.
I'll bet that if Criterion had made The Run instead of Black Box, it would certainly have been a better game all around.
EA should have kept Black Box targeted on their Skate games. Instead, they let them not only make The Run, but manage NFS World as well.
Skate seemed to be a much better fit for them at this point, but instead of having them focus on that, they let them keep going with NFS, and that's what led to the studio's shutdown last year.

They need to make a Tourist Trophy sequel.

And electric ones.

Destruction Derby type games do need to make a comeback. Fortunately, Bugbear is hard at work on just that.

That would be fantastic. Shame 2XL Games focuses on mobile games these days.
Maybe Nordic Games could make one, since they're releasing a new MX vs. ATV game next month.
Maybe someone could convince Microsoft to get Playground Games to make a new Rallisport Challenge game.
Stuntman needs to come back, and maybe if MX vs. ATV: Supercross does well enough, Nordic Games could have a new one made, since they own the IP now.

I really thought the only real major downsides to TDU2 were the characters, car selection, and online.
They did a pretty decent job with the vehicles meant to go off road, like the SUVs and the WRX STi.
Though it did feel a bit weird taking other cars off road. I tried it with the D-Type, and it didn't feel right.

The car selection is actually decent in my opinion. Altough as a japanese car fan i think adding some legend like Evo, Supra, RX7+8, and NSX is a good idea.
Characters and online, those sucks. The cutscene looks like a joke.

Yeah, that was something both TDU games were lacking in.
The first one had the R34, 350Z, it's Nismo variants and roadster, and a handful of Lexus models.
Other than the 350Zs, they were all DLC (though the R34 was standard on the PS2 and PSP versions, if I recall properly).
But overall, the TDU car selection was more plentiful than that of the sequel, especially when in TDU 2, the Bugatti Veyron and it's variants dominated the online scene and leaderboards, essentially ruining the online experience.

For me having 5 different version of the same car that performs just the same is ridiculous. 3 should be enough (Veyron, Gran Sport, Supersport).
