It's a wacky looking little shit. But that sheet metal has me thinking the i8 must be stunning.

Saw one on a test drive (or maybe a demo car) a couple weeks ago. It's really pretty odd looking, though really not too bad.I'm still hoping to come across an i8 sometime. I can only imagine how wild that looks going down the road.

Yep. There's one driven by a college student in my town. I looked around it at the dealership a while back before it was sold.

You may be thinking of the new MINI based BMWs that are on the way that are FWD, the i3 however is RWD with the electric motor placed in between the rear wheels.

I use the term as a universal reference to body panels. Lord knows actual metal is long sense on the way out.!!!

I like it. The shape and door design work for me.

Im just not crazy about any of the new BMW's. Not to say that they are not impressive but I never see myself buying a new M4 over an E28 M5.

It was bigger than I thought it was - dumpy looking little thing, but interesting nonetheless.

They are wacky little things, but oddly interesting somehow, like a Smart/Prius mashup that somehow isn't near as bad as you would think that would turn out. I was dropping a car off at a local car museum last week and there was one there in the loading area, parked in front of what in hindsight (I didn't pay any attention to it at the time) looked like maybe a steam Franklin. I noticed the i3 first and both as a pair, snapped a quick photo; as it felt like such a great distance of vehicular evolution if there is such a thing. Like having four generations at the same table.
