It's hard to see in the pic. But when the piston failed it wedged itself between the crank and the main girdle.
The result was a cracked Main Bearing Cap.
Now, couple that with the damage done to the bore by a wrist pin flailing around with no piston.
And this block is trash.
I'm not up for line honing and sleeving a Jeep 4.0. Normally it would be no problem.
But..
I recently found out that the subdivision I currently rent in will be condemned/bulldozed come June 2015.
Time to go ultra cheap and stuff a Scrapyard 4.0 in it and leave hope for the best.
What really bugs me is that I'm being forced to compromise on both the house I (actually) buy and the car I drive.

Renix or HO? I've got a Renix 4.6L stroker from Titan that makes 260hp. It's been sitting in my parent's garage for over a year. I've got the oil pan, valve cover, water neck, water pump, etc. for it as well.

Oh, I wish I could. It's an HO/Powertech in an 02 GC. The "new" 4.0 block.

Those 4.0's are silly cheap. I think I had 2800 into my 4.6L stroker.... Just find a free (cheap) motor and rebuild it.

Pretty much a renewal. There's been a battle since before I moved here. It revolves around the sewer system and The State Park next door.
I'm betting on a future Golf course but my neighbors think they want summer rental cabins.

Well poop. Good luck finding a replacement block - they should be damn near in every junk yard you can find.
