I know some of you guys are also Motorcyle enthusiasts so NP or CP.

it's this old CB something some one like me, with basic tools, and mechanic skills could get running? Looks like it needs a seat, and exhaust, I bet it'd be hella loud with just header pipes like that.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

There is also a nice running 70 something Honda 175 down the block from my house asking price is 1000 bucks, but that definitely smell like a CP to me. And i'm a 200lb 6'2" guy so a 175, as good looking as it it just seems to small.

(pic from google but this is what the bike looks like)

Kinja'd!!!

And know I would not that the owners advice and paint it black with skulls. If anything I'd paint it dark green.

If you're looking for a project, then okay price.

If you're not necessarily looking for a project, get a bike that's complete and pay a bit more. You're not going to save any real money doing it yourself.

Thats a good price. I paid $350 for my 79' Yamaha XS750 triple in similar condition. Parts are cheap and the knowledge base for the CBs is there for sure. But just know its a project, not the kind of thing you take home and throw some gas and a new battery in and call it good.

Old Japanese bikes are cool, but be sure that the one you are interested in has an active community that supports it, because with bikes this old, the parts may be made from unobtainium. I think the CB's have enough of a following where that may not be a problem, but mine, a '74 suzuki GT380 was just the wrong model. The 750 water buffalos were legendary, parts and clubs o plenty, but my little two stroke GT 380 had nothing out there to keep it going when it needed parts....Oh, and synchronizing the carbs was also a giant pain in the ass.... you may want to check to see if that is the case with this bike as well. (It probably is) As far as price is concerned, a lot of these old bikes are starting to rise in value if they are in good enough condition, but you can still pull a good deal if you try.

That's definitely a project ride, and I'm betting you could negotiate the price down with the seller right off the front end. If it turns over and runs, you're golden.

That's about the right price if you're in for that much of a project. I've bought and sold a number of 70s-early 80s Japanese bikes and I'd use something like that as a parts bike for something more complete rather than trying to resurrect it.

If you're looking to get out on the road with less headache I'd look at something like this: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/461935…

Be VERY careful about the title. Here in VA, there is a $500 service fee to recover a title for a bike from what I've heard.

Otherwise, it gets good mpg, and is easy to work on.

If the title was clean it would be a steal but sadly it has no title.

Yeah Im concerned about that. If it was last registered in Wi it shouldn't be to hard to get a title.

Going fast is a relative term. This bike was fast in 73.
