I really have little interest in the car itself, but if someone could do some sort of LS7/6spd swap (and give me the ridiculous amount of money to buy one) I'd be all ears. Also if MB had done a 6MT C63 drivetrain that would make the GT really cool. /thread

You could save a lot of money and go retro. Buy a 1970s Mercedes SLC for $2000. Do LS7/6sp swap. Paint it your color of choice and have the interior redone. BOOM - fast and reliable Mercedes GT car.

Yes! That is definitely the way to do it. It's just that I (and everyone else) have told by some people on here that I need to start caring about new cars. So this is how I do it. Make them more like old cars in my head. Now I just need to figure out how to get a 3.2 Carrera motor into a 991...

Don't listen to people!
And don't put a 3.2 motor in the 991. The 991 is too heavy!

Haha I know, it would be pretty awful. Also, I can appreciate many a new car, but almost all Mercedes post-W201/W124/W126/R107 seem so un-Benzlike and thus need LS swaps. Obviously.

If an S Class doesn't look like it's designed for a third world dictator then it's not a proper S Class!

Why in god's name would you do an LS7 swap into that?

Because I recommended it.

Would sadaam buy the new S-Class? That's something every rich person should ask themselves, or their driver, when looking at the new S-Class. And the answer is, no, we need a Landaulet. Nothing else will do.

It'd be a near impossible task and all it would net you is a ~50hp bump, which would probably be offset by the weight gain. Just replace the turbos for less money and a bigger power boost.
EDIT: The GT-S comes with 503HP factory, making the swap even more nonsensical.

I was just kidding. The only way I like an engine swap is if it was made by the same people who made the car. I'm pretty much trying to say that I like one thing about the GT from the extensive testing I've conducted.

Exactly!
