It really depends. I was once in a 10 hour traffic jam. Because a road (the only road) was in a various state of being partially open some of the time. If you think I am spending 10 hours in the drivers seat of a Ford Tempo without getting out at all....I won't do that.
I won't go far from the car, but I will exit said vehicle.

Hm. I wonder if the drivers were stuck in a line, and then the line moved, and then they were still asleep.
What we do here to cope with that, (if the roads going to be closed for a while) is all lay on the horns when the line moves again.
