Spotted at the mall. Looks like a PV544?

I wonder if the plate helps fend off "What kind of Volvo is that?" questions from random people.

HA...That's how observant I am. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't notice it.

I owned one of these for spell....it was shocking/sad how many people mistook it for a VW bug. Really? I had one guy go on and on about how "My buddy used to race one, he put a 911 engine in, blah blah blah." I didn't have the heart to say he was talking about a VW and my car was a Volvo.

If that's a 544, what's this one I saw on its home turf the other day? Oh, I guess it's a 544 van/wagon/estate type of thing.
PS: personvagnar is the plural and means something like "coaches".

Cool! And thanks for the Swedish lesson...I grabbed the name from wiki's explanation of what PV is short for. I'd personally call it a þjóða vagn myself.

Interestingly the Swedish one is lhd, even though they drove on the left at the time. This was the done thing at the time, odd though it seems.
