Mini-Photo dump from a charity car show in Edmonton

I picked up a wide angle lens earlier this year, but I don't think I have really put it through its paces. So checking out the Crystal Kids Show 'n Shine seemed like a good idea. Lucky for me, and unfortunately for the cars, the rain kept people away, so it was a bit easier to get some of the shots I wanted. Unlucky for me, rain meant dark grey skies, and often waiting for breaks in the rain to shoot.

I haven't had time to go through all of them, but here's a few that made me happy from the get go.

One thing that seems to make shooting at shows difficult, is that if you aren't waiting for people, you often have other cars "photobombing" the pictures you want to take. Its not really a bad thing, but brand new Camaros provide too much of a juxtaposition next to 30+ year old cars, so trying to learn how to take shots that makes sense is always a challenge.

The great thing, really, is talking to the owners about their cars. Like the gentleman who owns this 1932 Ford (i think model V8-8) truck, that used to be his uncles grain hauler. Its been in the family since its purchase, and after living as a field fixture for quite a few years, now lives on as this sweet hot rod.

One thing is certain, I need to get out to more of these.
