So I'll pick one of the cars commented in my last post in a few minutes. However, just wanted to point out that I was GISing Grand Marquis for ideas on how to modify my own, and came across this.

Kinja'd!!!

Its a 2008 for sale for $16,990 with 28k miles. As far I can see, its a regular old black MGM, with 18" Mustang GT wheels, chrome trim painted body color, chrome tipped dual exhaust, and smoked taillights.

I can't get over how much better it looks than my stock, beige MGM. I mean, I'm sure it isn't nearly as quick as a Marauder, but it looks great.

Blacked out chrome is glorious. Instantly makes any car look 10x meaner

It's sold so its not longer being listed. But it had a dumb single din radio with the gap above it.

Well, it sold, so either the buyer negotiated down or they didn't think that was too crazy. Fwiw I paid $8.5k for a year older, stock Grand Marquis with 75k miles (this one has 28k)

that doesn't surprise me at all, most panther owners dont even know how to do a proper double din install let alone afford one. I had a single din alpine in high school and I was so glad the day I replaced that with my pioneer double din

Yeah, I have a double din too, but mine's a Kenwood.

That makes me want to get a MGM as a daily, it looks great. What kind of MPG do you get with your MGM?

I live in Florida so it never really sees gridlock like you would in a big city, but it generally gets between 20.5 and 21.5 MPG in the city. On the highway, it will get 29 mpg at 65, 27.5-28 mpg at 70, and 25 MPG at 75 (I have done extensive testing, given that ive driven 15k miles with it in 6 months :p)

Mine is a regular old 2007 with the bars of the grille plastidipped.

I like how yours has a similar finish to the rest of your dash. Mine is piano black glossy and it bugs me sometimes. Still, I'm happy with it.

That is pretty good, a bit better than my Cobra in fact. Albuquerque gets a small amount of gridlock but I miss most of it due to my work schedule. It seems like a good daily. I assume it takes 86/88 octane?

Yeah it runs on regular just fine. Once, I decided to hypermile it because my A/C wasn't working, so I cruised at 65 with 2 windows cracked and was very careful about modulating hills. 33 MPG.

It's got just under 90k miles now and the A/C is the only issue I've had. I've definitely fallen in love with it.

"16-way power seats" they're 6-way...

In other news, this car's compass still works, unlike mine. :(

I was laughing at the 16 way power seats, I was like... do they know its a split bench?

Compass is an easy fix, just requires a little soldering.

its not that hard to take off. At most that OHC has a screw towards the windshield. After that its just clips holding it in (and man do they hold it in). I usually have to pry it down a little with a butter knife or something then stick my fingers in the gap and just rip down on it.

Actually yes, I put LED bulbs in my OHC as well as the OHC in my friends sport. Oddly enough mine doesn't have a screw but my only guess is because I have a moonroof.

I'll attempt it eventually. My compass works maybe once or twice or month, definitely worth switching in LEDs at the same time I guess

give it a smack in the middle of the console it might kick back on. Basically the resistors tend to break contact because ford used bad solder. Its a very common problem that dates back to the second generation explorer.
