Remember those kids in the 80s and 90s who grew up getting participation ribbons and watching the Karate kid? The ones who honestly believed that if they worked hard, they could do anything and that being a special snowflake is all they really need to do in life? They're the ones who get angry when someone else in their class does a good job, because they're just as 'human' as them? The ones who get fed up with a job because they won't get promoted right away, and who raise their kids to love everyone and respect everyone and that everyone is equal in god's eyes, because JUDGING people is the worst possible thing (and it happened to them all through high school?)
You know how that's become so common of a problem that it's now been beaten to stereotype and back and isn't even funny anymore?
Environmentalist children are the new form of that. They are the ones who believe that you can only be happy with yourself if you're taking care of the environment, and have it drilled into their heads that anyone who doesn't care or help is evil . They have forever associated "I don't care about myself, only those around me" with "I am happy and satisfied and everyone will love me because of it". They exist. And they're terrifying .

They're not hippies, though. They're like, futurists. It's almost like a martyr complex, they enjoy doing things that aren't best for themselves, but help the environment (whether it really does or not) and think that they deserve to be rewarded for it.
