For the record I want to praise Kaiser Permanente's "Everybody Walks!" campaign and I agree with their mission statement to get everybody walking (or at least exercising) more frequently. This, however, is kind of a bone-headed way to get the message across for a few reasons:
- I for one am glad that there are no pedestrians in sight, because when motorists start seeing pedestrians on the freeway stuff like !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! usually happens.

- There seems to be some confusion regarding what exactly is the problem and what's merely a symptom. Getting people to walk as a hobby or as a means of enjoying nature or the neighborhood is something completely different entirely from the correlation between commuting and exercise/health that they're implying in the video. Really, if you want to solve the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! a fundamental rethink and rebuilding of the urban neighborhood is necessary far beyond what's already occurring in order to accommodate walking treks and commutes in the neighborhood of 15-20 minutes max instead of the multi-day excursions required for many (if not most) commuters sans cars.
